What you wear when seeing temples is up to you, though shirts are required. Here, though, are a couple of things I wouldn't wear when visiting temples that are in varying states of decay. First, in the footwear category...
... and in the general fashion category, the next one is just my personal taste, though I'm betting that the fashion police would have backed me had they not obviously taken the day off. Yes, that's a man wearing the outfit in question.
